I totally agree with point 3 on your list regarding branding, however, there is a problem I come across here time and time again.

I dont think that older managers and directors understand the fact branding is not always important, this wold "creating a brad" and "branding" concept has been so overplayed that we are not able to see past it. I do email for a SME in the UK and I cannot stray from brand template on an email or I get it in the neck!

What I really liked about this service... its extremely easy to use and always being developed to keep up with new ideas and services on the web

What I did not like about this service... not a lot. the manuals need updating more often to keep up!

What features I wish this service had... they are working on a better form builder, salesforce integration and other new features and the suggestions forum is a great idea, so most of what I want gets added over time

BTW - Philip, you can have a multi-option unsubscribe so people can chose what to sign up to and unsubscribe from, its part of the package

Cool tips Carolyn,

One that I would add is to provide an incentive for people to subscribe.

When I started offering a free eBook and integrating an image of the eBook into my sign-up forms I noticed a 5-10x increase in the number of sign-ups! :)

Cheers,

Garin

What I really liked about this service... Ways of use and nice people to deal with

What I did not like about this service... Sometimes the support lines are busy and email response to problems is not great.

What features I wish this service had... unsubscribe in not helpful when you have various topics

My biggest challenge is getting publishers to learn how they can make money - just like retailers - by sending email. Publishers and ESPs have been out of Alignment and our challenge is now to bring them together to work as a team to provide great content to readers while still making money. People open publisher email to get news, just like they read magazines and newspapers, but the difference is that publishers make money on their print products. Our challenge is teaching them how to make money in this medium. We know how to do it, we just need them to let us show them how.

Wow...issue number 1 using different service providers is a big issue that needs to be resolved ASAP.

Having more than one solution in the organization leads to huge problems with whitelisting and potentially delivery.

As for building in frequency preference logic, not really sure that's going to be solved with your current ESP.

#3 we all struggle with list growth. It's all part of the game.
