After researching 15 email providers, ActiveCampaign provided the best features, service AND offered the lowest price! What can I say? Wow!
ActiveCampaign cares about you. Tell me ONE OTHER email marketer that you can genuinely say that about. Struggling? So was I. They have the best customer service I’ve seen in a customer service center in any industry! They really floored me with their patience, understanding, and speed. You don’t need a phone number! They get back to you via email quickly and efficiently! I feel like I’m good friends with the whole team, and I’ve never met any of them in person!
The service itself – wow! Reseller accounts, so many customizable fields for sign-ups and subscribers, ways to filter subscribers down by action, and the ability to create your own drag-and-drop templates, custom branding for your log-in pages, and a hefty FAQ to walk you through every step of the process. Talk about having everything under one roof!
But most importantly, everyone on ActiveCampaign’s team knows what they’re doing, and they’re doing it well. I highly recommend them to everyone!

At first ActiveCampaign looks like a great service, easy to use, has some good features, design looks great. The problem begins when you start sending mails. You can practically be sure that just about 10% of the mails you send to accounts hosted on gmail, hotmail amd yahoo will be delivered. When that happened I contacted support and they told me (not very nicely btw) that email sent to those email providers got queued and then sent. The first problem with this is that they lie you from te begining because your messages appear as delivered to those accounts. Second if they have to queue those messages is because they are not white listed by yahoo and hotmail. Third, about 90% of those emails were never delivered. I would not recommend them to anyone.

I was impressed with its features and tried for a month before purchase, but I mistakenly assumed that it fulfills its fundamental feature – delivering emails!
I have being use it for over three months so far, really frustrating by its reliability. It simply does NOT deliver emails 90% of the account, but reports you it DOES. BIG LIES. When I spoke to their tech support, they blame it’s because emails like Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo, have strange spam filter, and it’s out of their control!
Also, you can’t rely on their scheduling AT ALL for any time sensitive email campaign.
I will have to sunk my cost, and use other service. Lesson and learn – never assume.

Great Job!!!! (Support Team & ActiveCampaign System)
#1. Bought the downloaded version but wasn’t able to install it asap. Was able to install it after months of buying it and support should have lapsed BUT they still took time to help me and answer all my queries/concerns. Software now running smoothly.
#2. Had some queries/concerns about the system and the support team (Jason F. VandeBoom, Jon Maldia, Adam Turtle, etc) have been very patient answering my questions/queries.
#3. Software is great: it’s easy to use, has flexiblity and features that we have been using. We have great plans for our email marketing and I can still that Activecampaign will play a great plan in it.
We have a winner here in Activecampaign and we’re glad that we got them.

I have multiple mailing lists from Active Campaign. Once your service contract is up, they will NOT help you,even if their software fails to work.
To renew your contract, you must pay a MINIMUM of $450.00!!!!!
The program stopped sending campaigns, and they won’t even tai your email unless you renew a service contract for 450.00. (per account!).
Their software fails to work, it’s not reliable, and please don’t waste your money. I wish I had read a post like this before I got involved with them.
Also, some server require throttling of emails – their throttling does NOT work! The emails are not sent, they are dropped.

Hi Susan,
1) You are actually not talking about our email marketing service at all. You are talking about a downloaded server based platform that installs on your own server. And yes that has license fees and renewal costs.
2) With our standard email marketing service (which this page is about) we run everything for our clients so they can focus on their marketing. For the server edition you are complaining about it runs on your own server and YOU are entirely responsible for the server, mail server, etc.. Basically it is not an option for someone who doesn’t understand server administration, running their own mail server, optimizing server infrastructures, etc.. That is why we have our ActiveCampaign service which doesn’t require all that.
3) I am unable to find your name in our database and furthermore I can’t even find a single email you have ever sent us. We are more than willing to help people but based on your name you haven’t ever contacted us and you don’t have a license to your name.

What I really liked about this service…
The worry of constantly improve, innovate and listen to their customers to make changes, makes this company the best in the world regarding email marketing.
What I did not like about this service…

What features I wish this service had…
The support and upgrades worth it, they are amazing.
But maybe should be very interesting to have an option to just have activated upgrades for a year like a standard/fixed price.
And if someone need support pay for this like an extra.

Top-shelf support & developer team that’s constantly improving the product. A force to be reckoned with in the ESP space. I’ve been using their downloaded service (I host my own license of their software) for over 5 years now, and have been thoroughly impressed with the quality of features released, the company’s willingness to listen to customers, and the overall feature set of the system. Since version 5.3, we’re seeing a shift in focus from a software that was best suited to enterprise-level users (and their developers) to major UI & workflow improvements that focus on a consumer user. For us, that’s a feather in our cap, because we get to provide the same enterprise-level integration and performance with a consumer-focused, easy-to-use UI. I can only expect great things from Active Campaign going forward!

Great features and speed. Exceeds many of the features of the large ESP that i work for. Bought this software for a personal project and haven’t looked back. As long as you setup all they domain keys, sender feedback loops etc that are required by the ISPs to achieve good deliverability, you’ll save a fortune over Mailchimp or the likes in the long run. Plus i’ve found there’s many benefits to hosting your own email system, loads of opportunity to customise and give that ‘big business’ experience with your email marketing and transactional messaging. Would deffinately recommend.
