Marc review of emarsys 8.7/10
I have been using Emarsys for over 3 months now and am finding it really useful its vast range of features although quite technical sounding at first are easy enough to learn and have useful help pages to back it up.
The support has also been very good and our account managers have had technical guys working late on more than one occasion to resolve an issue we have had.
My only complaint would be the “screen freeze” bug has been worked out on the content creation area it will be less time consuming to schedule a campaign; however I am told plans are in place to resolve this.
All in all very satisfied with their service

What I like?
Excellent customer service providing valuable insights on the way we can meet our key metrics like deliverability, Open Rate, Click Rate etc. Providing solutions like using promo code, sinking database etc. which helps focus more towards ROI goals.
What I don’t like?
No multiple image upload function.
Since everything is hosted on (https://) – if the internet datapackage is a bit slow we need to redo the work. Having option to use non secure (http://).
What I would want to see?
Allowing functionality to select multiple languages while email is being sent as most of the company would target not just English but some local language.

Great company who integrated fast and with very little hassle as some of the technical guys were actually very good and offered some good advice from the onset.
Technology is great as well, creation of campaigns slightly confusing in the beginning but after a few campaigns it becomes second nature and I have now learnt from the account manager and their exec how to actually do triggered campaigns etc.
Not being massively technical, I also found the filters intimidating at first but once you think of them as IF and OR statements (which they are) then it becomes easier and you can really go wild.

Can only echo everything that was said in the previous review of this company. The salesmen sound like they bathe nightly in chip-oil, and the account managers are clueless. I bought a book on email marketing and learnt more than they know in a couple of nights, luckily we only had a trial period!

We signed up to use Emarsys in February 2010 as an ESP for our customer newsletter.
Emarsys initially comes across as very professional as they have slick salespeople, but once you’ve signed on the dotted line, the sales guys hand you over to account managers who have little idea what they are doing. They are juniors who are very new to email marketing. You spend weeks on end to try to get the simplest thing done. They don’t reply to emails and are always unavailable when you phone.
Everybody I’ve spoken to has said they’ve had a nightmare experience with Emarsys and have ended up leaving them.

Firstly I’d like to apologise that your experience of emarsys was not more positive. Secondly that this was not responded to sooner – unfortunately this is not a site that we have monitored up until now.
As per my other comments we do have many very happy customers large and small. We also have a very large client services team – possibly the largest in the uk so I am disappointed to hear that you feel your account was handled by juniors. We have some very experienced people in the team.
I’d very much value further information from you as to how we could have done a better job for your business.

Darren, you described just exactly what I am experiencing with them. Very slick sales people, clueless acount managers who just don’t reply to your emails for days and weeks. It takes weeks to have simple things done and months set up your account. emarsys is the reason my right eye started twitching…
