We are all very excited about the coverage we have planned for this year’s MarketingSherpa eMail Summit! We think you’ll love what we have in store for you here at The eMail guide! We want to make sure you get as much out of the summit as possible so, here are some tips we think will help you do just that. We’re assuming you already have some loud Hawaiian shirts or moo-moos packed but, let us know if you need some good links for that stuff.

Summit tips

Print out the agenda
Things move really fast at a summit such as this one. Get your ducks in a row before you fly south and you won’t return home feeling guilty about those mojitos by the pool time outs.

Make a list of the people you want to see
Same as above, having a plan of what you want to see and who you want to talk to will give you more time to enjoy the social aspect of the summit.

Double check your marketing handouts and other material
Do you have enough of them? How about your business cards? You can never have too many business cards to hand around.

Use Twitter to connect in advance and arrange meetings
People are already tweeting on #sherpaemail and it’s a great way to save some time by arranging to meet with people before their dance cards are full.

Reading material
Considering you’ll be at the airport at least 3 hours early, shouldn’t you print out or download some of the great reading material here at The eMail Guide to take with you?

Travel tips

Transportation Security Administration screening tips
Make your travel experience a lot easier by reading this info from the TSA. You’ll get through faster and be a lot less stressed if you do.

Airport Limos
It’s hit and miss with cabs depending on how busy the city is with conventions. If you want to lower your stress level (especially if you plan to swoop in just before the summit starts), call ahead and spend a few extra bucks on a limo. Besides, doesn’t everyone love to see someone standing in the arrivals holding a sign with their name on it? For some extra fun, when you book the limo, ask them to put “Elvis” or “Mr. President” on the name card.

Trip Advisor’s Miami page
A great page with plenty of info on things to do and see in Miami including reviews of the different neighborhoods and even a hurricane guide. Forget I mentioned the hurricane guide.

The eMail Guides top 5 travel tips
We posted this for the holiday rush but, it’s chock full of wisdom to help make your travels stress free.

Get in the spirit and have a Mojito!
The taste of Cuba website claims this is the very recipe that Hemingway enjoyed at La Bodeguita del Medio in Havana and that’s good enough for us.
