It’s Canada Day!

Canada Day

Busy week! First Social Media Day Wednesday with over 11,000 people at meetups around the world and now, It’s Canada Day!

We celebrate Canada’s birthday every July 1st. It was in 1867 that the four founding provinces came together to form the Dominion of Canada. With The eMail Guide HQ in Toronto, our team is taking a well deserved day to celebrate the great nation we call home! However, we wanted to share some Canadian culture with you while we’re soaking up some sun, burgers and fireworks!

  • Canada has a population of 34 million people.
  • Basketball was invented by a Canadian — Dr. James Naismith from Almonte Ontario (near Ottawa).
  • James Doohan and William Shatner of Star Trek fame were/are Canadian.
  • Canadian beers rule! Also, we own hockey. Just saying…
  • The original Spiderman cartoon from the sixties starred Canadian actor, Paul Sole as Peter Parker/Spiderman.

Want to watch Oscar wining Canadian produced films on your iPad from the NFB online library? There’s an app for that!

You wanna be Canadian…come on, we know ya do!
Watch the video to understand why we know you know you do! Eh?

Love the “Canadian, Please” video. I can still hear it playing in my head. Oh Canada!

    Cheers, Chris

      Glad you liked it Chris!

You should see them perform that number on horseback! Now that’s what we call a musical ride!
