MailChimp Template Throwdown: HTML email template design contest

MailChimp Template Throwdown

That barrel full of monkeys known in the email marketing biz as MailChimp, has once again stepped outside the monkey bars to show just how creative you can be with a contest! We love the marketing for this (the video and grapics are priceless!) and we thought it deserved a tip of our (staying with their theme) bowler hat. Great stuff!

~The contest~

MailChimp Email Template Throwdown contest

Design and code an email template using MailChimp’s HTML template language, and send them the code along with a screenshot of the design. They’ll pick 3 winners and belt them — belt as in way cool wrestling belt and money.

These folks have a rep for being creative and coming up with stand-out creative advertising for themselves and this is another example of a great approach to marketing themselves and their features — in this case, their HTML template design language.

Between April 5 and 30, you can submit your deisgn (in a zip file) and a screenshot (jpg). On May 14, they will award the top three Throwdown Contenders with a custom-made Championship Belt and $600 and the winner’s entry will be added to the MailChimp library.
